Thriving Autism Families
Autism Mom 101: Part 2
Are you a mom new to an Autism diagnosis for your child? Feeling confused, overwhelmed, or losing hope? Have no fear! In this episode you will hear from fellow moms who are successfully navigating life as Autism parents. Learn tips that you can implement right away!
Alondra Galvan, IEP Advocate
Alondra is a mother to a wonderful, six-year old autistic boy and a passionate IEP Advocate. She started her own family Autism journey with her son when he was just 18 months old. The process of a diagnosis was long and tiring, but thankfully Alondra’s love for reading and researching helped her to prepare for the long road ahead of them.
Along the way, Alondra became a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) and has now transitioned to IEP advocacy. Helping other parents understand the IEP process is one of Alondra's greatest joys.
Kristine Domingo, IEP Advocate
A San Diego native, Kristine has always strived to find ways to make effective positive change within her surrounding community. Whether it be in advocacy, volunteer work, or education, she truly believes that collaboration is the key to meaningful and impactful experiences. A former arts educator, she knew at a young age that she wanted to help children and families thrive within their own lives.
Kristine strives to keep current with her advocacy development and is a member of the Counsel for Parent Attorneys & Advocates (COPAA). She is also working toward the 2022 Special Education Law & Advocacy Series (SELAS) certification. In her free time, Kristine enjoys music, dance, creating macrame/fiber art, and spending time with her family.
